Terms of Use

Plain language terms for using FileIntel's tools and website. No surprises.

Last updated: June 2026
📅 Effective: 1 June 2026

By using FileIntel ("the site", "our tools") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms apply to all visitors and users.

1. The service

FileIntel provides browser-based file processing tools including a PDF Metadata Remover, PDF Redactor, PDF Merger, PDF Splitter, and CSV Deduplicator. All tools run client-side. Your files are processed in your browser and never transmitted to our servers.

We provide the service as-is and free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

2. Acceptable use

You may use FileIntel for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:

  • Use the tools to process files you don't have the right to access or modify
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute our source code without attribution
  • Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or stress-test the site
  • Use the site in any way that violates applicable law in Nepal or your jurisdiction
  • Attempt to introduce malicious code or interfere with the site's operation

3. Your files and content

Your files never leave your device. We have no access to any documents you process using our tools. You retain full ownership and responsibility for any files you process.

You warrant that you have the right to process any file you upload to the tool interface. We accept no liability for files processed without authorisation.

4. Disclaimer of warranties

Important

FileIntel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or produce results suitable for any particular purpose — including legal, compliance, or professional use. Always verify outputs before relying on them.

In particular, our PDF Metadata Remover aims to strip all known metadata layers but we cannot guarantee complete removal in all cases across all PDF versions. Verify critical outputs independently.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileIntel and its operator (Darshwan, Nepal) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or tools, including but not limited to: data loss, document corruption, compliance failures, or business losses.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the site shall not exceed NPR 0 (zero), reflecting the free nature of the service.

6. Intellectual property

The FileIntel name, logo, design system, and written content are owned by Darshwan. The underlying tools use open-source libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib, JSZip) under their respective licences.

Our source code is available on GitHub. You may fork and adapt it under the terms of the applicable open-source licence, with attribution.

7. Third-party services

FileIntel uses Vercel for hosting, Cloudflare for CDN and DNS, and Google Fonts for typography. Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for third-party service interruptions.

The site may display Google AdSense advertisements. These are served by Google and subject to Google's advertising policies.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Any disputes arising from use of FileIntel shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nepal.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The current version is always at fileintel.me/terms. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
